Positive Power ...

Positive Power is a motivational event which invited a number of very impressive and talented guest to speak to the student body.

State Representative Kolkhorst, Channel 11 sports newscaster Matt Musil, Walker County Sheriff Jean Sanders, professional basketball player Rickie Winslow, Director of the PACE program in Houston Steve Halloway and GCTC graduate William Luke were on hand to help motivate the students and let them know what an important role they play in society. By showing a variety of people who, themselves, are success stories, GCTC staff hoped the students would realize they can succeed as well.

Mr. Musil showed video featuring bloopers involving professional athletes to demonstrate that even professionals can make mistakes, and also showed the importance of trying to learn and improve.

The Center tries to plan special activities for the students throughout the year.
